Ramadan 2027 begins on Monday, 8 February, according to the government's official 2027 public holiday list. Chinese New Year falls on 6 and 7 February, the weekend right before it. For anyone planning a Ramadan bazaar stall, that one detail changes the whole calendar: factories, couriers and many suppliers slow down or close for Chinese New Year at the exact moment you need your first stock delivered.
This guide is written for stall owners and first-time sellers. It covers the confirmed dates, a month-by-month timeline from now until Hari Raya, what the search data says people actually look for during the fasting month, and the ingredients, packaging and equipment a Ramadan bazaar stall needs, with real wholesale prices from our catalogue.
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday, 8 February. The Malaysian government's official list of public holidays for 2027, published by the Cabinet, Constitution and Inter-Governmental Relations Division (BKPP), sets out the key dates below. You can check them yourself in the official Hari Kelepasan Am 2027 schedule.
| Date | Day | Occasion | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 to 7 February 2027 | Saturday and Sunday | Chinese New Year | Expect supplier and courier slowdowns |
| 8 February 2027 | Monday | Awal Ramadan | State holiday in some states |
| 24 February 2027 | Wednesday | Nuzul Al-Quran | State holiday in some states |
| 10 to 11 March 2027 | Wednesday and Thursday | Hari Raya Aidilfitri | Federal public holiday |
Islamic dates depend on the sighting of the new moon, and the final start of Ramadan 2027 is confirmed by the official announcement the evening before. A one-day shift is possible. Plan around 8 February, but keep your first trading day flexible.
Interest in the date is already high. Google keyword data for Malaysia shows "ramadan 2027" searched around 5,400 times a month on average, climbing to 18,100 in August 2026. Your future customers are planning ahead. Your stall should too.
Most first-time sellers start thinking about their stall in January. By then, the good sites are taken and the cheapest stock windows are closing. Here is a calmer schedule, working back from 8 February.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| October to November 2026 | Choose your menu. Test recipes at home or at a weekend market. Price your equipment and decide gas or electric. |
| November to December 2026 | Watch your local council's notices for bazaar site applications. Book your food handler course and typhoid jab if you do not already have them. |
| Early to mid-January 2027 | Order equipment, packaging and shelf-stable ingredients. Run a full trial: cook, pack and sell one batch exactly as you will at the bazaar. |
| Last week of January 2027 | Final top-up of dry stock. Confirm your gas supply and helpers. Expect slower deliveries from here. |
| 6 to 7 February 2027 | Chinese New Year. Do not count on any delivery arriving. |
| 8 February to 9 March 2027 | Trade. Reorder fast-moving items weekly rather than buying everything up front. |
| Late February to early March 2027 | Add Raya lines. Rendang paste and kuih demand climb before Hari Raya. |
Council application windows are not fixed nationally, so do not wait for a date to be announced to you. As one example, Kuala Lumpur's applications for Ramadan 2026 bazaar sites were already open in December 2025, around two months before the fasting month, as reported in this news report on the 2026 KL bazaar applications. Check your own council's website and social media pages from November.
Searches for "ramadan bazaar Malaysia" and plain "ramadan bazaar" are highly seasonal. Google data for Malaysia shows "ramadan bazaar" at around 390 searches in a normal month, then 22,200 in February 2026 and 14,800 in March 2026, the months Ramadan 2026 fell across. That jump tells you when people look. To see what they look for, we compared the Ramadan months of 2026 against a typical month (the median of the other ten months) for foods and ingredients a stall can sell.
| Search term | Typical month | Ramadan 2026 peak | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| murtabak | 6,600 | 22,200 (February) | +236% |
| rendang paste | 390 | 1,300 (March) | +233% |
| air bandung | 4,400 | 8,100 (February and March) | +84% |
| kuih | 9,900 | 18,100 (February) | +83% |
| rose syrup | 655 | 880 (February and March) | +34% |
| gula melaka | 12,100 | 14,800 (February and March) | +22% |
| ais kacang | 4,000 | 3,600 (February) | -10% |
| cendol | 40,500 | 33,100 (February and March) | -18% |
| takoyaki | 14,800 | 12,100 (February and March) | -18% |

Three lessons stand out.
Traditional buka puasa food wins. Murtabak, kuih and air bandung are the foods people associate with breaking the fast, and their searches climb sharply. If your menu has one of these, it is pulling with the season rather than against it.
Raya lines peak late. Rendang paste barely moved in February 2026 but more than tripled in March, the month of Hari Raya. People cook rendang for Raya, so the demand arrives in the last two to three weeks. Stock rendang paste for the second half of the month, not the first day.
Year-round snacks do not automatically ride the wave. Cendol, ais kacang and takoyaki are popular all year, yet their searches dipped during Ramadan. That does not mean they will not sell at a bazaar. It means you cannot assume the bazaar crowd will find you just because the item does well at your normal market. Pair it with something seasonal.
Good Ramadan bazaar food is built around three anchors: one drink, one main or lauk, and one snack or sweet. Customers carrying several bags home before buka puasa like a stall where they can pick up two things at once, and a drink is the easiest add-on to a food order. Below are the lines in our catalogue that fit each anchor, with prices checked 13 October 2026, Ex Tax.
Air bandung is rose syrup mixed with evaporated or condensed milk, and its searches nearly double during Ramadan. It is cheap to make, easy to batch and travels well in a sealed cup. Kurma-flavoured drinks fit the season too, since dates are the traditional food for breaking the fast.

For packing, a sealed cup is what lets a customer carry a drink home in a car without spills. Our PP Ripple Cup 500ml 16oz (PK-T0005) is RM 9.80 per 100, or RM 8.80 per 100 when you buy 20 packs. A manual cup sealer, WY-802D (CS-M0004), is RM 155.00, and plain sealer film for 3,200 cups (CS-T0005) is RM 29.80. At the 20-pack price, that works out to about RM 0.10 for the cup and film together, before the drink. Check that the sealer suits your cup size before you order, and ask us in live chat if you are not sure. The full range is in PP drinking cups and cup sealers.
Ready-made pastes and sauces in 1kg trade packs take the longest cooking job off your morning, which matters when you are fasting and working the stall through the afternoon heat. Rendang paste is the line to watch: searches for it more than tripled in March 2026, the month of Hari Raya.

| Paste Nyonya Rendang | SAU-P003 | RM 25.73 | 12+ RM 24.44 |

| Kersani Kuah Rojak | SAU-S023 | RM 14.80 | 10+ RM 13.90 |
The Malay paste series carries 35 pastes for rendang, laksa, curry and soto, and the Malay sauce series covers sambal, rojak and acar. Both sit inside our wider F&B Malay food range. Trial one pack against your own recipe before you buy by the carton.
Murtabak had the biggest jump of any food we checked, at 3.4 times a normal month. It is cooked on a flat griddle, so a griddle is the core equipment for that menu. Our electric Griddle 818 (GR-M0001) is RM 245.00 and the gas Griddle 718 (GR-M0004) is RM 298.00. See all sizes in the griddle series.
Ayam gunting is a year-round favourite with steady demand of around 9,900 searches a month, and it is a good second line next to a drink. The coating starts with a 1kg crispy fried chicken powder at RM 7.90, and a double-tank gas fryer (DF-M0021(C)) at RM 228.00 lets you run the first and second fry at the same time. Our ayam gunting supplier guide covers flours, seasoning powders and costing per piece in detail.
For sweets, kuih searches rose 83 percent in February 2026, and kuih kapit is a Raya cookie that many sellers take orders for in the final weeks. A single-head kuih kapit machine (ER-M0001) is RM 349.00 and the double-head model (ER-M0002) is RM 498.00, in the egg roll and kuih kapit machine series.
Bazaar sites differ. Some supply electricity, many do not, and gas is the safer default unless the organiser confirms a power point and its capacity. Confirm this before you choose between gas and electric models.
| Item | Example | Price | Needed for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Griddle | Griddle 718, gas (GR-M0004) | RM 298.00 | Murtabak, burgers, roti |
| Deep fryer | Double tank, gas (DF-M0021(C)) | RM 228.00 | Ayam gunting, fried snacks |
| Cup sealer | WY-802D manual (CS-M0004) | RM 155.00 | Sealed drinks |
| Display warmer | Double-deck warmer, Small (FW-M0004) | RM 355.00 | Keeping fried items warm and visible |
| Cup carry bags | Double cup holder bag, 100 pcs (PK-T0010) | RM 9.80 | Customers buying two drinks |
More options are in the deep fryer series and the food warmer series. If you are starting from nothing, the business start-up packages bundle machinery, ingredients, tools and operational teaching in one order.
The safest way to size your stock takes four steps:
Here is the arithmetic for a drinks line.
| Item | Working | Quantity | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cups (PK-T0005, 100 per pack) | 120 cups a day × 30 days = 3,600 cups | 36 packs | 36 × RM 8.80 = RM 316.80 |
| Sealer film (CS-T0005, 3,200 cups per roll) | 3,600 cups | 2 rolls | 2 × RM 29.80 = RM 59.60 |
| Packaging total | RM 376.40 |
The figure of 120 cups a day is an example, not a forecast. Use your own number. If you have sold at a night market before, your normal daily sales are a better starting point than any guess. If this is your first bazaar, start lower and reorder.
Split the order by how the stock behaves:
Every council sets its own bazaar rules, but two requirements apply to food handlers nationwide. Under Malaysia's Food Hygiene Regulations 2009, food handlers must complete a food handler training course from an approved institution (Regulation 30) and be vaccinated against typhoid (Regulation 31). Book both early, because course seats fill up before Ramadan. In Malay, search for "kursus pengendali makanan" to find approved providers near you.
Halal matters to almost every bazaar customer. Ask your suppliers for the halal status of each specific product, not the company in general. Halal-certified lines are available on selected products in our range, and we will confirm the status and origin of any item before you order. You can also check a brand's certification on the official Halal Malaysia portal.
Because Chinese New Year lands on the weekend right before Ramadan 2027, the last week of January is your practical deadline for anything you need on day one. After that, assume deliveries will be slower.
Full details are on our shipping fees page. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, so plan orders around weekends and public holidays.
The official 2027 public holiday list gives Awal Ramadan as Monday, 8 February 2027, with Hari Raya Aidilfitri on 10 and 11 March 2027. The exact start is confirmed by the official moon-sighting announcement the evening before, so a one-day shift is possible.
Order equipment, packaging and shelf-stable ingredients by mid-January 2027. Chinese New Year falls on 6 and 7 February 2027, just before Ramadan begins, and deliveries slow down around it. Order pastes, sauces and frozen items in stages once trading starts.
Search data from Ramadan 2026 shows the biggest rises for traditional buka puasa foods: murtabak (3.4 times a normal month), kuih and air bandung (about 1.8 times). Rendang paste more than tripled in March, ahead of Hari Raya. Year-round snacks such as cendol and takoyaki did not rise.
Using our 16oz ripple cups at the 20-pack price and plain sealer film, 3,600 sealed cups (120 a day for 30 days) cost about RM 376 in packaging, or roughly RM 0.10 a cup. Your drink ingredients and the sealer itself are extra.
Yes. Under the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009, food handlers must complete approved food handler training and be vaccinated against typhoid. Councils may add their own requirements for bazaar permits, so check with yours.
Halal-certified lines are available on selected products. Confirm the halal status of a specific product with us before ordering. Some of our food lines are made in Malaysia and some in China, and we will tell you the origin of any product before you order.
I started my first business in Miri in 2005. Three months in, I had sunk my entire RM8,000 of savings into a venture that was failing. What I took from that, and still believe, is that entrepreneurs do not need luck. They need a full toolkit to reduce risk. A Ramadan bazaar is a 30-day test of exactly that. I would rather see a first-time seller order a little early, run a proper trial and reorder weekly than gamble everything on day one.
Ramadan 2027 runs from about 8 February to 9 March, with Chinese New Year right before it. Fix your menu around one drink, one main and one snack, lean on the foods whose searches climb during the fasting month, and get your shelf-stable stock in by the end of January. If you want help choosing between two lines, or want to check what a starter order would cost, tell us your menu in live chat or WhatsApp us at 019-227 7047.
